Belarusians to pay 80% of this year's energy costs
In 2015 Belarusians will likely pay full cost of electricity.
It is expected that based on 2014 statistics, the population of Belarus will pay more than 80% of energy costs. This was anounced by Deputy Energy Minister Vadzim Zakreuski, BelTA reports.
The official did not rule out the fact that in 2015 the Belarusians will pay the full cost of electricity. The Ministry of Economy as the regulator in this area will plan growth indexes for utility tariffs based on real wage growth. Zakreuski added that the decision will depend on the rate of wage growth.
He reminded that Belarus has defined the criteria for growth in utility tariffs - $5 per year plus indexation depending on the price change index.
For thermal energy amount of offset spendings will be 23% at the end of the year. It is planned to increase the figure to 40% by 2017.
