'Birdman' wins Oscar for Best Picture
The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded Oscars on February 23.
The film Birdman has received an Oscar for Best Picture. The producers – Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, John Lesher and James W. Skotchdopole received the prize.
The films American Sniper, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything and Whiplash were among the nominees for Best Picture.
Birdman also received a prize for the best scenario.
Eddie Redmayne has won the best actor Oscar for The Theory of Everything, while Julianne Moore picked up best actress for Still Alice.
Polish drama Ida has won Oscar for best foreign language film and left Russian Leviathan behind.
