Blast kills 73 miners in China
According to the latest information, 73 people have died in a gas explosion in a mine in Shangsi, China. The number is reported by the Xinhua news agency. 44 victims were reported before.
113 mines out of the 436 people who were in the mine at the moment of the explosion are in hospital. 21 of them are in a critical state. The explosion in the mine situated not far from Tanyuan city occurred on the night of February 22.
More than 300 miners managed to get to the surface on their own. It is not clear how many miners are still underground.
