BPF Youth activist Arstyom Kasavarau taken to Akreststina

Activist of the youth affiliate of the BPF Party Atrsyom Kasavarau was detained and delivered to the detention centre in Akreststina Street yesterday, BPF Youth member Yury Lukashevich reported in social networks.
Four young men were walking along Independence Avenue yesterday evening. They were giving out invitations to the meeting and concert dated for the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic. The action is allowed by the city authorities. It will be held near the Opera and Ballet Theatre from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on March 25.
The young men took pictures next to the statue of a policeman in Haradski Val Street. It attracted policemen’s attention. They looked at the invitations and detained two members of the BPF Youth.
One of the detained was let off later, Lukashevich reports. Being of age, Kasavarau was taken to Akreststina Street. It is not clear what charges have been brought against the young man. He will stand trial on March 23.
The police also detained a number of opposition activists on March 21 – Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, Vyachaslau Siuchyk and Maksim Vinyarski.
