BPR Council urges to support Syarhei Kavalenka who hoisted flag in Vitsebsk
The BPR Council has demanded to release Syarhei Kavalenka detained in Vitsebsk for having hoisted a white-red-white flag. “The Council of the Belarusian People’s Republic” is delighted with the brave action of Belarusian patriots who hoisted a white-red-white flag on Vitsebsk Christmas Tree (the highest tree in Belarus) on January 7 and demands to release a BNF activist Syarhei Kavalenka detained for it”, - is said in the statement distributed by Radio “Liberty”.
The Council considers it to be its duty to draw the attention of democratic states and international organizations to the problem of Syarhei Kavalenka and his adherents.
The BPR Council notes that solidarity with Vitsebsk patriots should be the top priority for human rights organizations and for all Belarusian political parties and movements claiming to cherish national values.
