Bykov readings in Vitsebsk
A function to commemorate Belarus' literary legend Vasil Bykov was held on Friday in the Vitsebsk Regional Library. It was the first Bykov readins in the Vitsebsk region.
Library director Alexander Siomkin said the event was to mark 85 years since Bykov's birthday and 65 years since Belarus was liberated from the Nazi. Writers Mikhas Tychyna, Franz Siuko, literary critics Volha Rusilka and Sviatlana Dashkevich, teacher Alena Novik, poet David Simanovich were among those who attended the event. It was organized by David Simanovich in cooperation with the library, the Union of Writers and Artists and the Belarusian Language Society.
