CEC: early vote turnout – 31.29%
31.29% of voters have taken part in the early vote at the parliamentary lection, the Central Election Commission reported on Sunday morning. It is a record at Belarusian parliamentary elections. 26% of voters voted early four years ago.
Nevertheless, the early vote number was even bigger at the presidential election last year – 36.05%.
According to the changes made in the Election Code, more than half of voters need to vote for the election to be successful. The candidate that wins the majority of votes will be elected MP and the second round of voting will not be organized. If there is only one candidate, they need to score more than 50% of votes to win.
