Poroshenko to miss CIS summit in Minsk
The CIS summit agenda includes several projects aimed at further developing interstate cooperation.
The agreement on the Eurasian Economic Community is expected to be cancelled and Armenia is expected to join the agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union signed by Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia in May.
Most of the CIS Presidents have already arrived in the Belarusian capital. Russian leader Vladimir Putin is expected to come today. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will not attend the summit. He has asked Alyaksandr Lukashenka to report Ukraine’s position including the situation in Donetsk Basin.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Mikhail Yezhel will represent Ukraine at the summit.
