Criminal liability for drug sale can start at 14
Alyaksandr Lukashenka supported the proposal of the Investigative Committee at a meeting on 4 December.
At a meeting on combating drug trafficking that took place on 4 December, representative of the Investigative Committee suggested that criminal responsibility for the sale of drugs should start not at 16 but 14 years of age. Alyaksandr Lukashenka supported the proposal, reports BELTA.
Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Valery Shayeu also proposed to introduce and strengthen criminal liability for the sale of drugs, in case a person has died after their use.
In addition, he proposed to criminalize drug use, if a person is caught doing it within a year of an administrative penalty for the same actions. In addition, it is proposed to legislate the possibility of forced medical examination for drug intoxication.
All these proposals were supported by Lukashenka.
