Customs officers stamp “Annulled” instead of “Departure refused”

Customs officers and frontier guards have corrected all mistakes, but neither Belarusian declarations nor stamps forbidding to leave the country are available. The Border Committee informed ERB that stamps “Departure refused” containing lexical mistakes had been removed from border check-points. However, corrected stamps have not been received yet:

“All those stamps have been removed from border check-points. Certain procedures have been conducted in order to correct mistakes and change the contents. All the documents have been approved and new logos have been adopted. The stamps are being prepared at the moment. So they need some time to finish it all. Now we do not stamp at all or just stamp “Annulled” that used to be stamped in visas”.

Let us remind you that the incorrect variant of the “Departure refused” stamp was approved by the State Border Committee on December 22, 2007. Now customs officials are replacing it with the correct ones.

According to the press secretary of the Customs Committee Uladzimir Pehtserau, Belarusian declarations – by the way, it is the third time they have been corrected – are also ready and their pattern will soon appear in the web site of the Customs Committee:

“The work is over; we have organized a tender for publishing offices that would like to print it. At the same time, we are getting ready to post patterns of customs declarations including Belarusian ones in our web site so that people who are going to cross the border could look through them. Maybe we will allow filling them in right in the web site in the future, but now it is just a pattern to be looked through. We are hoping there will be no more mistakes”.

ERB wrote about the fact that the first variant of Belarusian customs declarations contained 46 mistakes and the second one – 13. Nobody knows how many mistakes there will be in the third one, but the Customs Committee is not going to give up.

Uladzіmіr Pehtserau: “We have experience in correcting them. He who makes no mistakes, makes nothing”.
