Cyclist Stanislau Kanavalau released on recognizance
Cyclist Stanislau Kanavalau detained during the recent action Critical Mass in Minsk was released on recognizance on the evening of May 2, his girlfriend Yelizaveta told Euroradio. Stanislau is a work and he feels ‘okay’, she said.
The action Critical Mass ended with detentions on April 29, Euroradio reported. 6 cyclists were arrested. The police accused them of violating the road rules, disobedience to the police and even a fight. Criminal cases could be started against two of the detained but the information has not been confirmed yet. Nothing is known about the fate of arrested Dzmitry Paliyenka.
Critical Mass is a cycling event regularly held in many European cities. It is aimed at promoting bicycles as vehicles.
