Czech Republic to simplify visa issuance procedure for opposition activists
The Czech Republic is not likely to follow Poland's steps on abolishment of payment for the national visas. It will simplify the procedure of visa issuance and abolish the fees for the representatives of the democratic opposition and the civil society of Belarus.
The Czech Minister of Internal Affairs Radek Jon and the director of the migration department of the Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs Tomas Haisman have said this at the meeting with the representatives of the Belarusian opposition in Prague. According to the Minister, the Czech Republic will strongly stand for increase of the list of officials who are prohibited to enter the country due to their guilt in the election falsification and political repressions after December 19.
"These questions concerned the possibility of a different approach to the Shengen visa issuance for all the Belarusian citizens. We also discussed the issue of possible creation of an international commission - they considered and supported the Lithuanian Parliament's resolution. We also discussed an issue that each Belarusian, who suffered from repressions, should be provided an opportunity to find his place in the Czech Republic, in order to protect his life and health”, — said Aliaksandr Kazulin to the European Radio for Belarus.
