Dashkevich has 10 days to get back his car

У Дашкевіча ёсць 10 дзён, каб вярнуць свой аўтамабіль

The car belonging to civil activist and leader of the Young Front (Czech Republic) Zmitser Dashkevich was confiscated on the evening of January 25. “They arrived, did not introduce themselves, did not show us their documents and simply put my car onto a breakdown truck,” Zmitser Dashkevich said.

The car was confiscated by Minsk Pershamaiski District Penalty Department law enforcement officers. It was done due to numerous Dashekvich’s fines for unauthorised street actions. He had not managed to pay them all, Dashkevich admitted. “There were 5 or 6 more fines to pay. I do not remember exactly what the sums were and what those fines had been imposed for. There were many documents and some of them were sent to another address. I probably did not receive them all,” Dashkevich noted. An average fine totalled 1000 roubles, Dashkevich added.  Law enforcement officers decided that his car cost 12000.

Zmitser Dashkevich has 10 days to appeal the court’s decision, chief specialist of Minsk Pershamaiski District Penalty Department Alina Kravets told Euroradio. If he does not do it, he will lose the car. “The car will be sold. It may not necessarily be auctioned. However, if ether is an auction, the previous owner will not have any advantage,” the specialist said.
