Dozhd TV: Putin is down with flu
Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov declines a comment on media reports that Putin may have been sick with influenza.
The Russian TV channel Dozhd has offered an explanation of the fact why Vladimir Putin has not been appearing in public recently. A few of the President’s meetings have been cancelled this week.
According to journalists, Putin is down with flu. He is in his official residence at Lake Valdai in Novgorod Oblast now, they say.
Putin’s Kremlin press secretary Dmitriy Peskov is refusing to comment on the President’s whereabouts. There is no such practice, he said. Journalists asked him where the President was and he replied: “We cannot not comment on such information, please dismiss the subject.”
