Driver fined for ribbon of Saint George and names of Ukrainian cities
He has been fined for violating the rules of using vehicles.
Mahilyou driving inspectorate has fined the owner of a Peugeot -308 for Br90 thousand (0.5 base amounts). He wrote ‘Sevastopol Donetsk Lugansk Odessa’ on the rear window and attached a wide ribbon of Saint George to it.
Head of Mahilyou UCP affiliate Uladzimir Shantsu complained about the driver at the beginning of August, BelaPAN reports. He demanded to start a criminal case for supporting separatism and extremism in a neighbouring state. The driver had to stand trial for sparking national, religious or racial hatred, Shantsau believes.
However, Mahilyou police did not see any traces of such a crime in the driver’s actions. They only fined him for violating the rules of using vehicles – attaching a sticker not allowed by the road rules to the rear window.
