Employees of tram parks forced to work as ticket collectors
It is explained by the fact that they can pay for their free pass this way. As ERB has found out, engineers from the tram park have to work as ticket collectors several times a month.
Employee of the tram park: “The regulations “On ticket collecting” were elaborated by “Minsktrans” and sent to all its affiliates. If it is announced unfounded… now we are signing some agreements… anyway, I do not have the right to answer when the director is absent”.
According to the deputy director of the exploitation department of Minsk tram park Anatol Labko, the regulations have existed for three years. Employees have to pay for their free pass in some way. The payment is 8 hours of working as tickets collectors a month.
Anatol Labko: "Everyone has to work 8 hours a month as a ticket collector. That is why our employees do not have to pay the fare. They have to pay for it somehow to be useful for the enterprise. The decision was taken by “Misnktrans” three years ago if I’m not mistaken”.
ERB has found out that employees of the tram park were not happy about the idea of collecting tickets – they have other duties.
Employee of the tram park: “It is clear that nobody wants to work as a ticket collector, we have other duties, we are not ticket collectors. That’s it, I will not answer any other questions without the director, I’m just an employee”.
The director of the tram park Rastsislau Yurenya was also reluctant to answer our questions: he said that “Misnktrans” knew more about it.
Rastsislau Yurenya: “They collect tickets in their work time; we do not make them work extra hours. Engineers and technical workers should do it. Ask “Minsktrans” about the rest”.
“Misnktrans” is also reluctant to discuss the decision about “ticket collectors”. However, if the regulations were elaborated by “Misnktrans”, it means that engineers from bus and trolleybus parks should work as ticket collectors too.
