Euroradio's 'Dry Day' article about Loyev nominated for European Press Prize

Euroradio journalist Aleksey Karpeka has become the first Belarusian to make the shortlist of the European Press Prize. His story "Living hurts": Doom and Gloom on a ‘Dry Day’ in Loyev is nominated in the Distinguished Reporting Award category along with the texts published by The Guardian, Le Monde,  The Sunday Times, Dagbladet Magasinet and Coda Story.

Aleksey's text was selected among the best works submitted by more than 700 journalists from 13 countries across Europe.

This year's five winners of the European Press Prize will be selected by a jury composed of: Sylvie Kauffmann, the Editor-in-Chief of Le Monde, Yevgenia Albats, Editor-in-Chief of The New Times, Alexandra Föderl-Schmid correspondent of Süddeutsche Zeitung, Alan Rusbridger, former editor-in-chief of The Guardian, and Juan Luis Sanchez, Deputy Director of eldiario.es.

The European Press Prize is awarded in 4 categories: Distinguished Reporting, Innovation, Opinion and Investigation. The judges also award the Special Award for Excellence in Journalism, which challenges categories and disciplines.

The winners will be announced on June 11.
