Ex-Interior Minister General Yury Zakharanka missing for 14 years
The General was reportedly kidnapped by a group of unknown people on May 7, 1999 in Minsk.
According to unofficial information, 47-year-old Yury Zakharanka, the then leader of the opposition, became a victim of the so-called "death squadron."
In 2000, Zakharanka's family received political asylum in Germany. The international human rights organizations have numerously demanded that the Belarusian authorities investigate the circumstances of Zakharanka's disappearance.
