Foreign visitors can now register with Belarus police online and for free

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Center of Electronic Services have launched the online registration of foreigners and persons without citizenship who are temporarily in Belarus, reports the Interior Ministry's press office.

Effective from 2 January 2019, foreigners can register at the Unified Electronic Services Portal - portal.gov.by. The procedure is free of charge and available to the foreigners who arrived in Belarus via the border posts.

To register, one needs to set up a personal account on the portal with the use of the personal e-mail.

After signig up, go to "Available Services" and select "Citizenship and Migration" and order the service listed under the number 200.12.14.1, fill in an application and send it.

The user will then receive a message about registration at the mentioned address in Belarus.

Under the Tax Code, foreigners are exempt from paying a state fee for electronic registration via the Unified Electronic Services Portal.

A foreigner can also be registered by his or her representative (another person) from their personal profiles having filled in the passport details of the foreigner.

A foreigner can also register in person at the office of citizenship and migration.

In order to extend the term of registration in Belarus, a foreigner must show up at a police station in person.

The foreigners who arrived in Belarus via Russia must report in person to the office of citizenship and migration.
