Former Russian PM Kasyanov to run for presidency in 2008
Mikhail Kasyanov today was nominated by his supporters as a candidate for the Russian presidency, reports Ria Novosti. In 2000-2004 Kasyanov served as Russian prime minister. Presently, he chairs the opposition Peoples and Democratic Union.
Kasyanov's nomination group will have to gather at least 2 million signatures in his support in order to have him officially registered as a presidential contender.
