Gazprom increases shares in Beltransgaz up to 37.5 percent
The Russian gas giant Gazprom has acquired another 12.5 percent of the shares of the Belarusian petrochemical and fuel transit company Beltransgaz, bringing the total shares to 37.5 percent, reports the Russian news agency Itar-Tass.
The deal to sell 50 percent of Beltrasgaz's shares for $2.5 billion was signed on May 18, 2007.
The sides agreed that the package of shares would be sold in four equal installments within 2007-2010.Under the deal, Gazprom has to pay for the shares not later than February 20 every year.
