Glen Hanlon: Hockey team failure caused by generational change
The new chief manger is going to succeed by working with the youth and will try not to lose the old stars.
The worse hockey results are connected with the generational change in hockey, chief manager of Belarus national team Glen Hanlon thinks. “Everything depends on the yout , on young players’ success and progress,” the specialist noted.
However, Hanlon does not want to refuse from “the stars” either. He will choose five CHL players for the team too, the coach said earlier. “I have talked to several players and they would love to join the team,” the coach told Euroradio. “They are the best players we have and the team will be glad to have them. They will need a special approach too. They should be respected for their achievements. And they need responsibility.”
Hanlon has not decided yet whether he should ask Mihail Hrabouski who has recently signed a contract with the NHL club Washington Capitals to lead the national team.
"I would like Hrabouski to sign a contract with Minsk Dynama. But I understand that a player of his level would prefer playing in the NHL. His decision is not caused by money, he has chosen the place where he will enjoy playing and feel happy,” Hanlon stressed.
