Greek teachers rush into TV centre

Dozens of teachers on strike left the TV centre after a fight with the police and an interview with Minister Anna Diamandopulu was delayed for 1.5 hours. The recording of the interview was interrupted by the fight of teachers who broke into the studio. About 50 other teachers fought the police in the building of the main TV channel NET. No victims have been registered.

The Greek authorities have condemned the fact of seizure of the state TV studio by teachers, notes Onet.pl.

The government is planning to lay off teachers having temporary contracts. Greece has engaged itself to curtail state expenses in exchange for the many billion assistance pack allocated by the EU and the IMF. It should help the country refinance the tremendous debt of 300 billion euro.
