Hurkou defeats Turk Dagan and makes it to Muaythai World Championship final (vid
‘People’s’ champion Vital Hurkou fought against Turkish boxer Ali Dagan on the evening of May 26. It was a semifinal of the Muaythai World Championship-2016 in Jönköping, Sweden.
Both boxers look equal in the first half of the match but Hurkou seized the initiative in the second part of the match.
Four other Belarusians have also made it to the final: Andrei Herasimchuk (+91 kg), Dzyanis Hancharonak (91 kg) and Dzimitry Valent also known as ‘a fighter in an embroidery shirt’ (81 kg).
Homel inhabitant Anatol Vanakou (86 kg) has won at the Belarusian championship for the first time this year. He has also made it to the final. The only Belarusian woman who will take part in the final is Alena Lyashkevich (45 kg).
All the six fighters will compete for gold medals on Saturday, May 29. Belarus men’s team will also try to get to the top-3.
