Ice hockey: Dinamo Riga fined for gammadion on ice (photo)
The CHL reacted to the incident that happened on November 17 at the Dinamo-Jugra pre-match show.
The show was held due to the 95th anniversary of the Latvian Republic. The art assembly of the National Armed Frces of Latvia unfolded an ornament reminding a gammadion sign on ice before the audience.
"For severe violation of the CHL regulations and the principles of mutual respect, placed in the basement of the CHL philosophy as an international sportive organization, Dinamo Riga HC is fined for 1 million Russian roubles [more than $30K]," RIA Novosti quotes the CHL statement.
Dinamo also got a warning that if such incidents repeat in the future, the team may be expelled from the CHL.
