IQ48 to open, Piotr Yelfimov to close Ambasovishcha
The residence of the US ambassador to Belarus on June 24 will host a festival of the Belarusian music – Ambasovishcha. It will be the fifth time for the fest to take place. Organizers promise visitors a new format. “Various artistes ranging from Dorofeeva and New Jerusalem to famous Belarusian bands performed during the first Ambasovishcha”, recalls Ales Krugliakou, festival MC. “Then, we made a shift toward folk. Last year, we tried to present artistes from the regions. This year, the festival will be held in a form of a contest. We announced an invitation for applications on our web site and everyone who wished to participate sent their applications. After auditions, 8 participating bands were selected”.
The selected bands are young Belarusian bands. They will play one after another. Afterwards, visitors will vote for the winner. The short-listed bands are:
Batyskaf (Drahichyn),
Unia,
Razbitaje Serca Pacana,
Open Space,
DetiDetei,
Tesaurus,
Sprat (Брэст),
Khutki Smouzh (Slauharad).
In the previous years, Kalmary, Dali and Litesound were the winners.
Headliners of the contest are IQ48 from Minsk who will open the festival. In the of the gig, American band The Gifted Children will perform to be followed by the vocals from Yelfimov and PitBUll.
Ales Krugliakou also says that all representative of the show industry – producers, vido-makers, directors of musical channel – were invited. “It is a rare opportunity to get together once a year and chat in the fresh air”, he said.
A total of 500 representatives of the show-biz are invited to the fest. The European Radio for Belarus will have a live broadcast from the event on June 34 from 1600 to 2300.
