Kabyakou notices that imported vegetables are cheaper than Belarusian
The PM has demanded to make domestic vegetables more competitive at the internal market.
PM Andrei Kabyakou has drawn attention to the prices for Belarusian vegetables and fruit at a meeting of the Council of Ministers on January 27. The retail prices for vegetables and fruit kept rapidly increasing in 2014, BelaPAN reports. The situation has not changed this year.
The season plays some part in it, but the prices should be reasonable, Kabyakou noted. He drew attention to the fact that some Belarusian fruit and vegetables were more expensive than imported goods. It results in the increasing import in the domestic market.
The PM ordered the Ministry of Agriculture and Nutrition, regional and Minsk Executive Committee to increase the competitiveness of domestic vegetables and fruit in the internal market.
