KGB chief explains consequences Belarusians fighting in Ukraine may face
Valery Vakulchuk has talked to MPs and answered journalists’ questions.
Euroradio has asked the KGB chief whether criminal cases have been started against Belarusians fighting in Ukraine.
Valery Vakulchyk: "I think that it will be known when such a case is started. Naturally, mass media will get to know about it. Being a hireling is not allowed in our country and it does not matter what side those Belarusians are fighting on… Our legislation forbids it…”
Reports about Belarusians fighting in voluntary Ukrainian battalions or helping separatists have been appearing in mass media.
