Labkovich: Policemen did not say what law we violated
Human rights activists Tatstsyana Ravyaka and Uladzimir Labkovich have been summoned to Minsk Soviet District Department of the Interior today.
They were detained while distributing leaflets with Ales Byalyatski’s photos in the centre of Minsk yesterday. They were accused of “organizing an unauthorized picket”.
However, Soviet District Court decided that the police reports were not accurate and had to be remade. The human rights defenders were released.
Uladzimir Labkovich described the mistake policemen made:
"They did not indicate what law we had violated because article 23.34 of the Administrative Code refers to another law.”
Labkovich and Ravyaka have to come to court at 11 a.m. They may stand trial there.
