Lapko: I hope we will not have to print 1-, 2- and 3-thousand rouble banknotes
Belarus will not have to point 1-, 2- and 3-thousand rouble banknotes, deputy head of the National Bank Dzmitry Lapko said on ONT.
Lapko: “I am hoping that there will be no need to do it. The government and National Bank have a certain inflation plan. Hopefully, we will not have to print such banknotes.”
The new banknotes of 200 and 500 roubles are enough, he noted. They are equal to the minimal wage and the average wage, the representative of the National Bank administration said.
The Belarusian rouble has been denominated today, on July 1. Four zeroes have been removed. Seven types of banknotes have appeared – 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 roubles and eight types of coins– 1,2,5, 10, 20 and 50 kopecks and 1 and 1 roubles.
