Luftwaffe pilots mistaken for Soviet pilots on Russian billboard (photo)
The billboard dated for the Victory Day was installed in Ivanteyevka, Moscow Oblast.
A scandalous incident has occurred in Ivanteyevka, Moscow Oblast. The billboard ‘They fought for Motherland!’ was installed there to mark the anniversary of the Victory Day. It showed WWII pilots. However, the pilots were not Soviet citizens. They were Germans from Luftwaffe – a Junkers crew, well-known Russian blogger Rustem Adagamov wrote on Twitter.
The billboard was quickly removed. The local authorities apologized for the ‘slighting mistake’ and promised to punish the guilty.
