Lukashenka to his subordinates: You are little presidents! (video)
Syamyon Shapira and Uladzimir Krautsou did not object.
On Thursday, the President appointed new governors of Minsk and Hrodna regions. 52-year-old Syamyon Shapira became the head of Minsk regional executive committee. He used to govern Hrodna region for the last 3,5 years. 60-year-old Uladzimir Krautsou replaced him at that position. Before this, he was the Head of the Permanent Commission at the House of Representatives on the economic policy, prior to this he worked in Mahileu regional executive committee (Deputy Head, First Deputy).
Alyaksandr Lukashenka urged Shapira and Krautsou to be real owners, leaders.
"Remember, I have always said that (maybe you overuse it sometimes): you are little presidents at your territory!" Lukashenka says. "As presidents, you take over huge responsibility for this land, you are given great rights. You have no communist or any other parties getting into your way. Act! You report only to the President... You are protected from all sides, you have no need to go looking around."
Alongside with that, the state leader reminded about the upcoming elections and that people should see visible results of the work done.
