Lukashenka inreases external debt limit to $11bn
Alexander Lukashenka has signed his decree No 245 on May 13 which increase the limit of the state's external debt from $9.5 billion up to $11 billion. The limit is increased in connection with the president's plans to issue Eurobonds worth of $2 billion in 2010-2011, reports Kapital.by.
As of April 1, 2010, Belarus' external debt amounted to $8451,3 million or a 7.1 percent increase since early this year.
IMF experts reckon that Belarus will borrow a maximum in 2010 to reach around 24 percent of the gross domestic product against 18 percent of GDP inm 2009.
