Lukashenka reshuffles security apparatus, army
President Lukashenka on September 11 signed several edicts that approve new appointments within Belarus' security and defense apparatus.
Colonel Igar Alyakseichyk was dismissed from the post of deputy commander of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Armed Forces of Belarus - chief of aviation. He will be replaced by Colonel Alyaksandr Karau.
Lukashenka also fired Mikalai Grinyou from the post of Chief of the Department of Material Reserves of the of Emergency Situations Ministry on account of his retirement, informs the press service of the head of state.
On Thursday it was announced that Alyaksandr Lukashenka dismissed Major General Alyaksandr Kanavalau from the post of Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus. He will be replaced by Colonel Andrei Utsyuryn who had been head of the presidential security service.
