Lukashenka to meet Putin today
The Belarusian President will attend two international summits in Ufa, Russia.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS summits on Wednesday. Russia is presiding in these organizations this year. Belarus is not a member of the organizations but is hoping to get the status of an SCO observer.
The pressing issues of the world politics, economy and financial sphere will be discussed at the summits. Lukashenka will conduct a number of bilateral meetings and meet Vladimir Putin there, RIA Novosti reports.
Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a regional international structure founded by China, Russia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan 14 years ago. BRICS consists of five member states – Brazil, Russia, India, China and the Republic of South Africa.
