Lukashenka meets with UN Secretary General (photo)
Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York on September 27. They discussed the situation in Belarus before the presidential election appointed for October 11, RIA Novosti refers to the UN press service. Ban Ki-moon discussed the political and human rights situation in Belarus with Lukashenka.
BELTA did not mention it and reported that the UN Secretary General had thanked Belarus for supporting the UN for its activity in the organization. Ban Ki-moon thanked Alyaksandr Lukashenka for his ‘constructive part’ in helping settle the conflict in Ukraine.
The Belarusian President is paying a working visit to the USA, Euroradio reported earlier. He made a speech at the global development summit at the jubilee session of the UN general Assembly and met with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
