Lukashenka slams Minsk City officials over delays in construction sector
Belarus president says his patience is running out over never-ending delays with high-profile construction projects in Minsk.
Talking to a meeting of officials responsible for the implementation of president's orders in the construction sector on Tuesday in Minsk, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said the situation with the construction in Belarusain capital "got to the end of the tether" and that he was not going to tolerate it even if "the government or even law-enforcement agencies were happy with the situation."
"I am sorry but I am starting to suspect the whole leadership of Minsk City Hall. In fact, I have grounds for that," Lukashenka is quoted by BELTA state news agency. He also reminded about the first aide to Minsk Mayor who was convicted for "huge bribes" and noted "nothing happens just like that". Lukashenka stressed he was getting regular updates on the situaion in the construction sector in Minsk and the reports were very worrying. "I hope you will not end in a worse situation that your fromer first aide", said the head of state looking with Minsk Mayor Mikalai Ladutska.
According to Lukashenka, the situaiton is "especially negative" with the construction projects like "Minsk City", Tractor and Dynamo stadiyms, Freestyle Center and Aquapark.
