Lukashenka on spice: grief for family, state and threat to nation's genes
According to the President, this problem affects entire society.
At the Thursday meeting on drug control, Alyaksandr Lukashenka mentioned the problem of Spice. BelTA reports that the President is very concerned that more and more young people use drugs in Belarus. In particular, the drugs are used by school pupils, vocational school students, university students and other young people. There are more than a thousand cases of Spice overdose of which 25 people died in the last two years.
"This is grief for the family, the state and the threat to the gene pool of the nation," said Lukashenka. He recalled that he touched on this issue in a recent meeting with the students of the Pedagogical University. "It was said then, how dangerous alcohol and drug abuse are. This is not just a problem of individuals who go down in the world, but a serious challenge to the present and the future of our society and the state. And this threat affects absolutely everyone, including those around this table, because everyone has children and grandchildren," said the head of Belarus.
