Lukashenka to take part in MPs’ meeting today
The decision to appoint a new PM and head of the National Bank may be approved today.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka will take part in a meeting in the House of Representatives on January 15. The decision to appoint a new PM and head of the National Bank has to be approved today. The meeting will start at 11 a.m., BelaPAN reports. Andrei Kabyakou replaced PM Mihail Myasnikovich and Pavel Kalaur replaced head of the National Bank Nadzeya Yermakova in December 2014.
The Council of the Republic also has to approve the appointments on January 15. According to the Constitution, it should be done within two weeks after the President sighs his order. The order was signed on December 27 and MPs will gather only on January 15 - it is almost three weeks.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka will speak to senators on Friday, BelaPAN reports. Mihail Myasnikovich may be elected head of the Council of the Republic on this day.
