Lukashenka’s roots between Chernigov and Kiev (video)
The Belarus leader comments on the developments in Ukraine at a meeting of the country's Security Council.
"I am being asked how to overcome the Ukrainian crisis (by the way, my background is somewhere between Chernigov and Kiev),” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said. “I joke and reply: just work hard and if you do not know what to do, give us power in the country and we will provide stability, the people’s unity and territorial integrity by the end of the year.”
Alyaksandr Lukashenka was born in Kopys, Orsha District in 1954. Then he moved to the village of Alexandria, Shklou Distarct, with his mother. Speaking about “the background between Chernigov and Kiev”, he probably meant his grandfather Trafim born in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine.
