Lukashenka's rating down - poll

The Independent Institute of Socio-ecoomic and Political Studies (IISEPS), led by Professor Aleh Manayeu, has released the results of the March 2015 national poll of Belarusians, Over 38 percent of those polled said it is impossible to improve the life of the population under the current leadership and its policy.

The rating of trust to Aliaksandr Lukashenka continues to go down. In September 2014, he enjoyed 53.5% percent of trust, in December 2014 — 49.9 percent, in March 2015 — 48.8 percent (33.3 percent, 35.6 percent, 39.7 percent did not trust correspondingly). 45.2 percent of those polled were ready to vote for the incumbent in September 2014, 40 percent - in December 2014 and 34.2 percent  - in March 2015.

37.33 percent of the respondents described themselves as loyal to the current authoirities. 25.4 percent called themselves opponents to the authorities. 36.7 percent said "they did not think about it or did not care."

But even with his raiting going down, Lukashenka is well ahead of any opposition leader. Electoral rating (in an open question) of Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu currently stands at 7.6 percent (against 3.5 percent in December 2014), Mikalai Statkevich - 4.5 percent (2.7 percent), Aliaksandr Milinkevich - 1.6 percent (2.8 percent), Anatol Liabedzka — 2.9 percent (0.8 percent), Siarhei Kalyakin - 1.6 percent (0.7 percent). Lukashenka's rating (in a closed question) is 36.9 percent against Nyaklyaeu's 9.4 percent.

44.5 percent said they wanted to see an experienced politician as an opposition candidate. 22.3 percent expect the arrival of a young and unknown politician. Only 16.4 percent of the respondents expect a woman to become the president of Belarus.
