Mahilyou activist Tsurpanau detained at public prosecutor's office
Activist Valadar Tsurpanau was detained at Mahilyou Province public prosecutor's office. Tsurpanau has been jailed and will stand trial, human rights defender Barys Buhel told BelaPAN.
Tsurpanau came to the public prosecutor's office to lodge a complaint. A policeman asked him to show his passport. The activist refused to do it. The policeman explained that he had the right to check people’s documents.
Tsurpanau showed his passport and went to the prosecutor’s assistant to lodge a complaint. When leaving the building, the activist was detained and accused of disobedience to the policeman who had asked him to show his passport.
