Maltsau: Reports about tanks at Belarus-Ukraine border are nonsense
Head of the State Border Committee Leanid Maltsau made a speech in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
Belarus has to reinforce the border with Ukraine due to the situation in the country, he told MPs.
Maltsau: “We have tried to enhance security at the so-called green border. However, reports about APCs or tanks seen there are nonsense. We only increased the border reserves and the number of policemen and internal troops there. It is only needed to control the border area.”
According to Leanid Maltsau, the situation at the Ukrainian border is quiet and ‘under control’. Only isolated cases of illegal crossing of the border have been registered. The number of cars and passengers crossing the border has decreased lately.
