March of National Flag organized in Minsk (photo report)
The unauthorized street action March of National Flag was held in the centre of Minsk on Saturday, October 10. It was organized by such opposition politicians as Mikola Statkevich, Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu and Anatol Lyabedzka. A short meeting was held in Freedom Square and then about 800 or 1000 people holding white-red-white flags headed for Yakub Kolas Square. A short meeting was also organized there. The speakers discussed the stealing of elections, the necessity to struggle for independence and the ‘expansion of the freedom of speech’. The police did not interfere.
