Member of Tatstsyana Karatkevich’s group detained in Mikashevichy
The police tried accusing Leanid Dubanousau of being drunk during the signature collection.
Policemen detained a member of Tatstsyana Karatkevich’s initiative group in Mikashevichy on August 12.
Activist of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) Leanid Dubanosau was detained at 7.50 p.m., BelaPAN reports. The man was leaving a house in Pershamaiskaya Street. He had been collecting signatures in support of Tatstsyana Karatkevich there.
Two policemen approached the activist and said that somebody had phoned them and said that Dubanosau was drunk while collecting signatures in flats. Dubanosau was interrogated and underwent a medical check-up. Medics revealed that he was sober and the man was let off at about 10 p.m.
He usually collects signatures from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., the activist said. He got detained because Mikashevichy inhabitants are actively signing in support of Tatstsyana Karatkevich, Dubanosau believes.
