Militants capture Russian journalist in Ukraine
Novaya Gazeta journalist Pavel Konygin was covering the so-called referendum in Donetsk Oblast.
He drew attention to numerous evident violations during the voting and mentioned the disappearance of the Mayor of Artyomovsk who had opposed to the referendum.
The journalist was detained in Artyomovsk, Echo of Moscow reports. He sent a message about his abduction. Konygin was taken to Sloviansk and had to pay $1000 for his release there. The militants promised to release him but there has been no contact with the journalist ever since.
