Minister of Education urges to be 'more aggressive' with protesting students
ducation Minister Mikhail Zhuraukou criticized the student's protest against fees for retaking tests and examinations. At the meeting of members of the Youth Council of the Ministry, which was held in the House of Representatives on December 14, Zhuraukou said that the initiators of the student protests "are using our noble spirit, our calm response to a variety of attacks."
Commenting on the student protest near Belarusian State University on December 2, he concluded: "Maybe we need to be more aggressive."
According to the official, reported by BelaPAN, the movement "Students Against", which brings together young protesters, has virtually no students. Therefore Zhuraukou called the movement confusing and advised to consider "how to react to it and what to do." He believes that among young people, including students, there is a pronounced social infantilism. "That is, do not touch me, let someone else do it, but if I need something, I will demand: give me, provide me with this, and I will criticize, I will also act boorishly," said Zhuraukou.
