Minsk City Court to consider Andrei Bandarenka’s appeal today
The former head of the human rights organization Platform-Innovation was imprisoned for 3 years in August.
He was returned guilty of malicious hooliganism. October District Court judge Ala Abakunchuk pronounced the court decision. The human rights activist pled particularly guilty but disagreed with the court decision and decided to appeal it, Radio Liberty reports.
Andrei Bandarenka is jailed in Valadarski Street now. “He seems okay. I saw him in the detention centre a week ago. He did not complain about the living conditions and was hoping to appeal the court decision,” the prisoner’s father said.
