Minsk fireworks accident kills woman injuring 10 spectators
Doctors provide assistance at the accident scene.
The parade for Independence Day in Minsk ended sadly. During the festive fireworks several missiles exploded on the ground. Ten people were injured as a result of the explosions. One of the victims was killed.
This information was confirmed by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry expressed its condolences to the families and friends of the deceased promising to provide the necessary assistance, the official telegram-channel of the Ministry wrote. "It has been established that the charges from this shipment have already been used for fireworks".
Earlier eyewitnesses reported that a piece of fireworks missile hit the head of a woman watching the fireworks. Doctors tried to revive her on the Svislach embankment near the Dynamo sports complex on Dauman Street, but they failed.
Experts from the Investigative Committee arrived at the scene. According to their information, the deceased woman was born in 1955. On July 3, 2019, she was watching the fireworks on the bank of the Svislach River and was wounded. Investigators are currently looking into the causes of her death. The criminal case has been opened.
