Minsk to host children’s contest “Eurovision-2010”
The international children’s song contest “Eurovision-2010” will take place in Minsk. The Belarusian State Broadcasting Company has received an official notification about it from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) today, on June 8. The show will be organized in the Belarusian capital on November 20, 2010. The Belarusian State Broadcasting Company will be the domestic broadcaster of all events of the children’s contest “Eurovision-2010”, informs BelaPAN.
Several countries competed for the right to host the contest. Three countries remained after the first meeting of the supervisory board in February 2009 – Belarus, Russia and Malta.
One more meeting of the supervisory board was organized in Kiev on June 5. The finalists made their presentations there. As a result, Belarus was chosen. A sports complex “Minsk-Arena” will host the event.
Banners with pictures of participants of the children’s “Euroviiosn-2010” will be pasted in central streets of Belarusian cities and their clips will be broadcasted on the screens of the Belarusian State Broadcasting Company in Minsk.
